Lately people have been asking me if I feel like my pregnancy has passed by quickly. With less than six weeks until my due date, I have to say that I feel like it has passed as it should. The beginning definitely dragged since I wanted to surpass week 13 so badly in order to reduce my risk of miscarriage, but once I hit week 23 I feel like time has shifted into overdrive. I know that I am going to miss feeling my baby roll around in my belly, but I cannot tell you guys enough how eager I am for this next chapter in my life.
Here is what happened during weeks 32 and 33 of my pregnancy.
32 Weeks: Baby is the size of a jicama.
33 Weeks: Baby is the size of a pineapple.
Didn’t take a bump picture.
32 Weeks: Didn’t weigh myself.
33 Weeks: I am up 28 pounds from my normal weight.
32 Weeks: Walking only.
33 Weeks: I did not workout at all this week, but I felt like I was constantly on my feet throughout each day. I will likely take it easy for the rest of my pregnancy, but I sure do miss my intense workouts.
32 Weeks: Still experiencing pain in my rib cage towards the end of each day. I also noticed my first bit of swelling in my ankles during this week. This was likely due to staying on my feet all day long.
33 Weeks: Same as week 32. I also experienced Braxton Hicks contractions this week. My belly was extremely tight this past Wednesday night with a bit of pain to the right. When I mentioned this to my doc for my 34 week check-up, she explained that it was indeed Braxton Hicks contractions. She stated that my body was gearing up for the big day and that these contractions were totally normal. I also took on a horrible cough this week. It has been driving me nuts, so hopefully it subsides soon.
32 Weeks: Cake, greek yogurt, pizza, snoballs.
33 Weeks: Fruit, avocados, popsicles, pizza, sunflower seeds.
32 Weeks: Waking up every hour to urinate, but returning to sleep quickly.
33 Weeks: Same as week 32.
Looking Forward To…
32 Weeks: Seeing, hearing, and holding my baby girl for the first time. I get a little choked up when I imagine that moment in my head. I cannot wait to be a momma y’all!
33 Weeks: Completing the nursery. Brett installed recessed lighting in Allie’s room last weekend. He has got a few more projects to tackle, but I am hoping that everything will be out of boxes and arranged by the end of the month.
Any Baby/Pregnancy-Related Purchases
32 Weeks: Yes, a glider for the nursery, a mattress for the crib, crib sheets, and decorative pillows.
33 Weeks: This week we finally purchased a dresser from Pinhook Flea Market to use as a changing table. Brett will be refinishing the piece over the weekend. I also purchased a few bows for my little girl from Notes and Knots.
32 Weeks: Still none.
33 Weeks: Surprisingly, I still don’t have any. Moisturizing twice a day seems to be working, but I have a feeling I will get a few towards the very end. Thankfully, Brett is constantly drilling me to moisturize. Just last night he mentioned that I may want to start moisturizing three times a day up until my delivery day. He stated that when the belly starts to get itchy it means that the skin is stretching. So, moving forward I plan to apply cream every time I start to feel my belly itch.
32 Weeks: Yes, it seems like I feel more movement as each day passes.
33 Weeks: I filmed my belly two days ago and shared with my parents and mother-in-law. I think this little girl is going to be a dancer just like her momma. She is definitely getting stronger by the day and has some extremely fierce moves.
Belly Button In or Out?
32 Weeks: Still in, but pokes out at the top when I’m standing. You can definitely see it through tight fitting clothes.
33 Weeks: Same as week 32.
Any Interesting Stories?
32 Weeks: My parent’s visited this week to house hunt. While they were in town my mom shared with me a few items that she kept from when I was a baby. I am so glad that she kept these meaningful pieces for the past thirty years or so. I especially fell in love with the vintage swaddling blankets and Feltman Brothers dresses that she saved. I cannot wait to dress up my little girl in these outfits that were once worn by myself.
Below are a few of the items that my mom brought over to me.
