Today I say farewell to my second trimester! Below you will find a recap of weeks 26 & 27. I have to say that my second trimester was a wonderful experience. I can only pray that the third trimester will be just as nice.
26 Weeks: Baby is the size of a scallion.
27 Weeks: Baby is the size of a head of cauliflower.
26 Weeks: Didn’t weight myself.
27 Weeks: 4 pounds
26 Weeks: Strength training and walking continue to be my go-to workouts. I can definitely feel the extra pressure from my bump during my walks. I’ve had to support my baby with both hands under my bump at times while walking around the neighborhood during weeks 26 and 27.
27 Weeks: This week I decided to freeze my gym membership – which will be effective May 1st. I decided to do this since I figured the last two months of pregnancy will likely consist of walking only. No need to waste money on a gym membership that I will not use. It was a hard decision, but I plan to be back at the gym (preferably the pool) sometime in July. I miss my swimming friends and competitive workouts so very much y’all.
26 Weeks: I’m feeling pretty great for the most part. I’ve also found it interesting that I’m no longer cold natured. It seems lately that I am either comfortable or even a bit hot. Touching my belly constantly has also become part of my daily routine.
27 Weeks: On Tuesday of this week, I experienced horrible back pain for the first time. I took a half dose of Tylenol and rested on the couch for a few hours. The pain subsided for a bit, but returned later in the afternoon. After soaking in a warm bath and getting a good night’s rest, I was feeling like myself again the next day. I’m definitely feeling the extra weight I’m carrying – especially when I try to lift myself from the floor, couch, or bed.
26 Weeks: Bananas with peanut butter, sweet-tarts, nachos, comfort food.
27 Weeks: Bananas with peanut butter, soup, salad, water, cake.
26 Weeks: The same as it has been for most of my pregnancy – waking up every hour or two to urinate. Fortunately I’m going back to sleep quickly.
27 Weeks: Same as week 26.
Looking Forward To…
26 Weeks: My doctor’s appointment next week. Since it’s been one month since my last check up, I’m eager to make sure that everything is moving along smoothly with Baby Michel.
27 Weeks: Revealing our baby’s gender to everyone at the end of the month. It will be so nice to finally get this secret out. Although, it has been fun hearing everyone’s guesses. I’d love to know what you guys think – so go ahead and guess below in the comment section!
Any Baby/Pregnancy-Related Purchases
26 Weeks: Yes, I purchased three dresses online this week as possible options for our Baby Celebration. I found a winner and decided to return the other two.
27 Weeks: Nothing this week.
26 Weeks: Still none.
26 Weeks: Yes.
27 Weeks: Yes. This week I’ve noticed some larger movements. Feeling my baby roll in my belly is one of the best feelings in the world. Definitely trying to savor every second of carrying my baby.
Belly Button In or Out?
26 Weeks: In.
27 Weeks: Still in, but definitely starting to flatten.
Happy or Moody Most of the Time?
26 Weeks: Happy!
27 Weeks: Happy, but I also had an emotional week.
Any Interesting Stories?
26 Weeks: I asked my mom and Brett’s mom for baby pictures to display at our upcoming Baby Celebration. Below are the pictures I received. I keep trying to envision what our little one will look like, but I know that our child will probably look nothing like what I’m imagining.
27 Weeks: After my doctor’s visit yesterday, I’m happy to report that our baby is doing just fine. The heartbeat sounded strong, and my belly is measuring right at 28 weeks! Hello third trimester!
